Co-Founder and COO
Michael is the co-founder of Athena Financial - an early stage venture aimed at disrupting the Australian mortgage market.
Before resigning to found Athena, Michael spent 8 years at NAB where he held a variety of roles – beginning in Personal Banking strategy and moving to the digital channel team and product. Most recently Michael held the position: Executive General Manager, Deposits and Transaction Services where he was accountable for deposits, transaction banking, and payments offerings across the full spectrum of customer segments.
He represented NAB on the board of New Payments Platform Australia, the Australian Payments Council and ASX listed Home Loans Ltd.
Prior to joining NAB, Michael worked for 13 years at CVA, a boutique strategy consulting firm. He was elected partner with a focus on consumer and SME banking. Working across multiple geographies, he advised clients on topics such as product design and pricing, distribution network design and portfolio strategy.
In 1999 Michael co-founded iSelect, a successful online insurance comparison site now listed on the ASX.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Computer Science and Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Monash University and an MBA from Harvard.
