Rhydian founded RateSetter in 2010 believing there was an opportunity to open the asset class of loans to everyday investors. In 2017, Rhydian was awarded an OBE in recognition of the work that he and RateSetter have done towards inclusion in financial services. Rhydian’s aspiration is that the interest rates on RateSetter will come to be seen as benchmark rates for investors. To date, over £2bn has been lent through RateSetter and the platform has more than 250,000 active customers. Prior to founding RateSetter, Rhydian spent six years at the financial advisory and asset management firm Lazard. He graduated from Bristol University with a double first in Modern Languages.
