Uma brings nearly 10 years of FinTech expertise, having joined CapitalRise from leading online consumer lending business, Wonga Group, where she held various Head of Product roles for Wonga UK Consumer Loans, Business Lending (Everline.com), and Peer to Peer Lending. Prior to that, she co-founded a social purchasing start-up. Her early career was with Mars Group where she spent 10 years in management roles for confectionary brands including Celebrations, Mars, Galaxy and other household names. She holds a Masters in Engineering from Cambridge University and an MBA from INSEAD. She lives in central London.

Mark asserted that the talent pool in property lending is now ‘in the alternative space’. He also said of platforms that get pricing and risk wrong: “The speed at which they came is the speed at which they’ll go.”
